SS 347 is an austenitic stainless steel stabilized with columbium, exhibiting remarkable corrosion resistance, oxidizing resistance, and resistance to intergranular corrosion when subjected to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation range of 800-1500F. SS 347 H contains a higher carbon content, thereby improving its resistance and strength at temperatures exceeding 1000F. SS 347 possesses excellent forming and welding properties, and the incorporation of columbium and tantalum content aids in resisting intergranular corrosion.
